How does EDC work?
We work to attract new businesses to the community, market the community to developers and retailers, provide input to developers on proposed projects to help them respond to community needs and desires, conduct community planning and visioning processes, and provide updates on development through our website and newsletter.
In addition, we work with other local organizations, developers and elected officials to help them understand the needs and goals of the community in terms of commercial development and issues that impact the commercial districts.
How Can You Get Involved?
EDC has many ways that the public can get involved in our work by joining one of our Committees or attending public meetings about developments in the area. For more information, please call 773-506-4016.
Marketing and Retail Attraction

Planning and Development
At this monthly meeting, businesses and developers give presentations on new development proposals, new business proposals and requests for special zoning and business permits. This is a forum for local organizations and residents to learn about the developments and share perspectives. The Planning & Development Meetings are held at 7 p.m. on the first Thursday of the month, typically at 6044 N Broadway. We encourage you to call to confirm meeting date and details.
Other ways to get involved
We are always seeking volunteers to write articles for our newsletter, help identify potential businesses to attract to the area, assist with our fundraising and marketing efforts, and a multitude of other ways for you to help bring the business to Edgewater.
