As part of our efforts to advance improvements to the Red Line and all of our transportation infrastructure, we encourage you to take part in the moving beyond congestion campaign. Sign up to receive regular updates on their efforts to improve capital
funding and to learn how to contact your legislators to voice your
support for a state capital plan.
The Moving Beyond Congestion Strategic Plan showed that there is a dire need to make capital investments to maintain, enhance, and expand the transit system. With uncertainty in gas prices, a struggling economy, a desire to better protect our environment, and record-high ridership, the need to invest in transit has never been greater than it is today. Without a strong capital program, the transit system can not be the truly world-class system that our region needs. |

Business Opportunities at O'Hare
The City of Chicago Department of Aviation will be issuing a number of Requests for Proposals, "RFPs", for concessions opportunities at O'Hare International Airport within the next several months. Each RFP will have an Airport Concessions Disadvantaged Business Enterprise, "ACDBE", participation goal. In order to satisfy the ACDBE participation requirement for an RFP, the respondent's certification must be complete at the time the proposal is submitted. If you believe that your company qualifies as an ACDBE and may be interested in responding to future RFPs but is not ACDBE certified, please do not delay in beginning the certification process. Information regarding ACDBE certification may be obtained by contacting the City's Department of Procurement Services, Certification Unit at 312-742-0766. You may also go to www.cityofchicago.org, select "Doing Business with the City", then "MBE WBE DBE", or click here which will take you to the City's on-line ACDBE application.
If your business does not qualify as an ACDBE, you will find a list of certified ACDBEs at the following website: http://www.dot.state.il.us/ucp/ucp.html
If you have any questions, please feel free to call Diana Miller, Unison Retail Management, at 773-894-3905.

Off-Street Parking for Rent Winter is here and the winter parking regulations are in effect, making on-street parking a trickier proposition. In addition, the City has now sold the rights to operate the City's parking meters to a private concern, and, as a result, reports indicate the parking meter rates will increase. No fear, as you can rent off-street parking at 1127 W Granville - literally steps from the Granville Red Line Station. The parking lot is located to the rear of the building and the rent is very reasonable, only $100/month.
If you are interested, please call Bob at (312) 656-0156. There is one space remaining to rent on a first come, first served basis. | |
